| Free MySpace Layouts by Iron Spider I bought my first "resophonic guitar" in Basel, Switzerland, when I was 19 years old. Since that day I could say I play everything in open G. I started playing country blues inspired by bluesmen like Mississippi John Hurt, Blind Willie Mc Tell, LeadBelly, Bukka White, Sonny Terry and Brownie Mc Ghee, Muddy Waters, Robert Johnson... but then I realized that the slide guitar is more versatile than everybody thinks. After listening to Django Reinhart i know that everything is possible!!!...if he could play with only two fingers I should be able to do it with three and a bottleneck... My main project is "DOWN HOME", a "neo swing" quintet with original repertoire. The members are Duska Miscevic on alto sax, Pol Prats on tenor sax, Ivan Kovacevic on contrabass, and Roger Guardia on drums.... They are great musicians and friends. I'm leading other bands like "The Acoustic Blues Company" with Blas Picon and Ivan Kovacevic, and "Shine", the newest project with Albert Bello and Ivan Kovacevic playing some "hot club" swing. Compre mi primer guitarra "resonadora" (o dobro, o como le quieran llamar) en Basel, Suiza, cuando tenia 19 años. Desde ese momento podria decir que casi siempre toco en la afinacion de Sol Abierto (Open G). Empece tocando country blues inspirado en artistas como Mississippi John Hurt, Blind Willie Mc Tell, LeadBelly, Bukka White, Sonny Terry and Brownie Mc , Muddy Waters, Robert Johnson... pero luego me di cuenta de que la guitarra slide es mucho mas versatil de lo que todos creen. Despues de escuchar a Django Reihart me di cuenta que todo es posible!!!... si el podia tocar con dos dedos, yo tengo que poder con tres y un slide... Mi principal proyecto es Down Home, un quinteto de "neo swing" con repertorio propio. Los integrantes son Duska Miscevic en saxo alto, Pol Prats en saxo tenor, Ivan Kovacevic en contrabajo, y Roger Guardia en bateria.... todos ellos son grandes musicos y amigos. Tambien estoy al frente de otros grupos como "The Acoustic Blues Company" junto a Blas Picon e Ivan Kovacevic y "Shine", el projecto mas reciente don de toco junto a Albert Bello e Ivan Kovacevic swing al estilo "hot club". |
