I write SONGS, not just verses and hooks. I'm a performer that funnels high quality Hip-Hop and R&B music through a live band, which results in an amazing stage show that has been captivating audiences from the East to the West coast for years now.Originally from New Bedford, MA, a city of 150,000 residents, located just south of Boston, I relocated to Los Angeles in October of 2006. And it's been ON ever since!. I've worked and toured the world with artists like Ciara, Bobby Brown, High School Musical, Corbin Bleu, and Drake Bell, and now, the New Kids reunion tour. I've performed with my own LIVE hip-hop band, rocking shows in both LA and my native Massachusetts. MikeyLife provides a fresh sound and a unique perspective to a genre of music that has been suffering from a severe case of "sameness" for far too long. It truly is "Abstrakt Entertainment", which is also the name of the production and entertainment company I created in 2003 while attending the University of Massachusetts. By high school, I was in the school's orchestra and was beginning to search for my own musical identity. I had a wide variety of musical influences ranging from the Motown, Jazz, and 70's soul music my father played around the house, to the Hip-Hop and R&B music of the 80's and 90's that provided the soundtrack to my youth, and everything else in between. I enlisted in the Air Force after high school, and I credit my military experience with helping me to approach life and my art with the professionalism, focus, drive, and dedication that is necessary for a long career in the music and entertainment industry. And now, after obtaining both the skills, and experience needed to excel, I'm prepared to make my mark! Just as the Boston area is taking over sports, it's musical takeover isn't far behind! So I suggest this to you, MySpace world: take the time to listen to my music...take the time to get to know me...and be a part of the legacy that is and will be MikeyLife and Abstrakt Entertainment.
