About Me |
|
| As unique as this band’s sound is, they have been compared to Velvet Revolver, Stone Temple Pilots, Alice in Chains, Audioslave, Metallica and even Tool. All of whom have influenced these lads. Some audiences have dubbed their sound as “Toronto rock”, some even called them “the future of rock”, whatever that is, it can only mean good. You’ll be easily hooked on their catchy rhythms and melodies that’s harder to shake than tinnitus from a night after a rock show.On vocals and guitars is Dave Djukic. He’s got an eerie double octave voice that sounds like your listening to Scott Weiland (Stone Temple Pilots & Velvet Revolver), and Chris Cornell (Sound Garden & Audioslave) singing in unison possessed by a demon. He’s been mistaken for the latter and Toronto’s own Ian Thornley (Thornley, Big Wreck). On lead guitar, Orlando Luna delivers classic melodic solos oozing with Zakk Wylde influence and lots of Lapino (Latino/Filipino) onstage (and probably offstage) sex appeal. The most headbangingest bassist in Toronto right now is Lew C. Fur, spewing out solid pounding bass grooves that’s attached like a Siamese twin to Mike's precise tempo on the drums.Steal the Days has rocked the stages of famed Toronto venues such as The Horseshoe Tavern, Lee's Palace, The El Mocambo, The Reverb and Nathan Phillips Square at Toronto City Hall since their blood pact on New Year’s eve 2006.Currently the band has a rocking 40 minute set, not including covers of some of your favourite bands like AC/DC, Stone Temple Pilots, etc., consisting of original tunes such as the self affirming, funk rock “I Stand Alone”, the vengeful, hard rock “M.O.”, and the very catchy and headbanging “Masked” to name a few.
