| I PLAY ACCORDION, ORGAN, CASIO AND PIANO IN THE CIRCO FANTASMA BAND AND I SING AND PLAY IN THE NEW BAND CALLED THEINDIANPALMS
it was all born in 1984 in my cousin's bed room, I climbed the stairs and i went there everyday to listen to some vinyls.. in a corner of that room there was an old red fisa; they said my aunt's dad got it during the 2ndWW. I had been "playing" it for many years but for me it was kind a joke.. then, while I was absently listening to a disc, I heard that song: -My Desert- (from "A Scandal in Bohemia" The Jazz Butcher) that 3/4 accordion melody enchanted me. and when I found out I managed to play it, for the first time.. I felt like a "musician" then 10 years passed and I started playing it seriously; in the early '90s in italy a lot of rock-folk bands had an accordion player: MCR, Mau Mau, Yo Yo Mundi ... and in the end: Circo Fantasma I've been a member of CF since 1997 and ever since we published: NINNANANNA PER LA CLASSE OPERAIA(1997) TEMPI MIGLIORI(1999) AD UN PASSO DAL VUOTO(2001) and in March 2006 we've realized our '80s-rock-dream with I KNEW JEFFREY LEE in the 2006 I took part to a collaboration for the new album of canadian rock-blues band LesBarons ,in the 2007 i played live with an italian all-female band called Vertigini ,in the last months I took part to a collaboration for the new album of the great leader of BARRACUDAS, Jeremy Gluck ,who took part to the hystorical album I KNEW BUFFALO BILL and I'll start with my friend DoC a parallel newborn project called THEINDIANPALMS ..Hope you'll hear about us.. é nato tutto nel 1984, nella camera di mio cugino, salivo le scale e andavo di sopra,tutti i giorni, ad ascoltare vinili. in un angolo della stanza c'era una vecchia custodia nera con all'interno una fisarmonica rossa(che la leggenda dice frutto di uno scambio durante la seconda guerra mondiale). io la suonavo per gioco seguendo la melodia di un brano che per me é stato fondamentale:MY DESERT dei THE JAZZ BUTCHER dall'album A SCANDAL IN BOHEMIA. riuscire a seguire quella melodia e quel ritmo in 3/4 mi faceva sentire musicista capace... sono passati piu' di 10 anni da allora e grazie a quel ricordo e alla spinta di alcuni gruppi che all'inizio degli anni 90 hanno inserito la fisarmonica come strumento in una line up rock-folk(vedi M.C.R.,MAU MAU,YO YO MUNDI,CIRCO FANTASMA)ho ripreso a suonare quella fisarmonica rossa seriamente fino ad entrare poi a fare parte dei Circo Fantasma stessi. con loro ho realizzato 4 album: NINNANANNA PER LA CLASSE OPERAIA(1997) TEMPI MIGLIORI(1999) AD UN PASSO DAL VUOTO(2001) I KNEW JEFFREY LEE(2006) oltre ai tributi italiani di BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN e NICK DRAKE nel 2006 ho collaborato al nuovo album dei canadesi LesBarons ,nel 2007 ho suonato dal vivo con la rock band tutta al femminile Vertigini ,ho collaborato,scrivendo un brano,al nuovo album del leader dei BARRACUDAS ed autore del capolavoro del rock I KNEW BUFFALO BILL, Jeremy Gluck ed insieme al mio amico DoC ho intrapreso un nuovo progetto musicale chiamato THEINDIANPALMS spero che presto sentirete parlare di noi... |
