| THE MODERN SOULS,MUSICAL TALENT BEYOND THEIR YEARS.REMINISCENT OF THAT 66' PEROD OF THE BEATLES,TOUCHES OF THE WHO AND SHADES OF OASIS' - HOTPRESS ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------- MINING AND SEEKING INFLUENCE FROM THE 60's,THE SILVER GUN TRUNDLES ALONG WITH ITS REVOLVER-ERA PSYCHEDELICA AND BACK WHEN THE 7 INCH WAS KING,DRIFTIN AND SO IT GOES(AGAIN) WOULD HAVE BEEN QUALITY SINGLES.THE LISTENER IS T-REX BOOGIE' - EVENING ECHO ------------------------------------------------------------ -------------------------------First things first, The Modern Souls are a rock n roll band from Tippperary.They make music for those with a smile and a swagger ... It's music for fastSaturdays and slow Mondays. The group are together since the summerof '06 and since then have recorded three EP's. The immediate future consists ofrecording,gigging and writing shit loads of tunes.With the bands influences mainly with the 60's and the sound of that era, the lads were not happy with the sound of the professional studio's.payin money to sound like the fuckin killers or any of that shite. So they devised a plan including an 8 track,2 mics,lots of booze and the songs. And the result was a much better feel for their tunes and a true reflection of the band musically.So what do they sound like? There's the vocals, guitar, bass and drums...there's 'the listener' a stomping,glam rock tune with amazing vocals. 'Drifting' a poptastic,singalong song about trippin,and the fine art of sittin in the sun drinkin.theres the Beatles back beat of ''The Silver Gun'', the melodic dreamy 'so it goes again' and the beautiful love song ''im still here''With recent gigs in the village,voodoo lounge,eamon dorans,and the crawdaddy,the Modern souls are makin a name for themselves as a brilliant live act with some powerful tunes.so keep the eyes out,and the ear drums open.Peace Love and bananas THE MODERN SOULS | |
