| With music practically flowing through his veins since birth, Michael Vincent knew that his future would hold some form of musical stardom. At the age of 15 Michael discovered his brother’s drum set in his basement and started banging on it right away. He felt very comfortable behind the drum kit. Michael wanted to impress his brother, and show him that he also had musical talent and ability. That became his motivation to further learning the drums. Vincent progressed quickly and started looking for other musicians to jam with. He played with many musicians, but started to outgrow them one by one, realizing that he had to find professional level musicians who could keep up with him. In the meantime, he searched for more challenging and diverse inspirations to further develop his drumming skills. Tommy Lee, John Bonham, Bill Ward, Mitch Mitchell and Tommy Aldridge became the influences that lead Vincent on an endless creative spree, thus allowing him to discover the true potential of a drum set. After a while Vincent grew frustrated with the musicians he was finding and considered giving up. “I wanted to play drums in a metal band and couldn’t picture doing anything else”, “I figured I’d give it one more try and if it was meant to be I’d get in or I’d give up”. Vincent decided to go on this “last” audition in hope that he would find what he was looking for. That “last” audition was for Blackwood. He knew from the first time he auditioned for them, that they were exactly the type of professional level musicians he was looking for. Vincent knew then and there, he wanted to be the drummer for Blackwood. The band had Vincent come back for a few more auditions.
