Books:Iain Banks has written some of my favourite books and i also have a great interest in music books. Biographies of Lemmy and Motley Crue have given me great pleasure as have more difficult reads like Haunted Weather by David Toop which comes up with some quite sophisticated ways of how people are creating sound and how sound links with memory etc. Easy Riders, Raging Bulls is also a book which I loved (im reading the sequel right now) which documents the rise in leftfield American director's (they were leftfield then) of decades gone by. I'm also quite a big John Steinback fan. of Mice And Men is an incredibly powerful book, and has influenced many other great writers. Then again, it's all about James Joyce when it comes to books I guess.Since i started travelling Ive read books by Michael Moore (Dude, Where's My Country and Stupid White Men), and a book called Michael Moore Is A Big Fat Stupid White Man, which, although way too right wing in ideology for my liking, does however make one think about what Moore is actually doing. Ive also been reading a book by Chomsky, and a book by Maddox. Ive finally started getting back into books!!! |
