| June 2007 ------------------------Okay…so I am no longer quite the novice here, but it has been quite a while since an update … so here goes: ------------------------------------ The friend list…musical and otherwise continues to grow and some amazing new discoveries of friends and musical talent are the reward. Among all of this is a very recent discovery of a wonderful budding talent from Montreal named Rachel. Her music and persona are truly special and the chance discovery of her on myspace and others like her are what make the experience here so wonderful. Also from Montreal, an amazing source for me of great music and talent is Maia Davies. I recently had the pleasure of seeing her perform in NYC again and she was as always remarkable. Continuing with the Montreal – New York connection is a favorite of mine for many years now, Catherine Durand – a gifted singer / songwriter / performer. All three can be found here in my top friends…happy listening!!! ------------------------------------------------- In New York it is now spring, and for me a very favorite time of year. The city just takes on a whole new energy life cycle and it is sure fun to be part of. My running has been cut back a bit due to some new work situation and some nagging little injuries, but the New York City Half Marathon looms in August, a really nice event that runs straight through times square and then all the way downtown hugging the Hudson River along the way…great stuff. So, I guess I will be found in beautiful Central Park running the loops as always. --------------------------------------------------------- The musical scene so completely comes alive with a renewed energy as things move outside and added fun that provides. In addition the clubs and small venues of the lower east side continue to showcase some the finest independent artists to be found anywhere and they come to nyc to play from literally around the world…be sure to see Lena Chen’s pages (Chilen Music), also on my friends and see her monthly showcases if in New York City during the spring / summer. ------------------------------------------------- Recent live music highlight: The truly amazing band “Mrnorth”….see my friends here… and visit their myspace and bandsite web page. Their performance of the latest and awesome cd release “Fear and Desire” live with the Greenwich Village Orchestra at Florence Gould hall was one of the most amazing performances I’ve ever seen or heard! This concept CD is remarkable!!!
