About Me |
Hey, I'm Bill! is galactic retro funk at it's finest. Imagine throwing Tower of Power, Kool and the Gang, and Abba in a blender. It'd be really gross, but if you're the kind of person who could picture that, we're the band for you! Who digs SonicBoomSix? Let's do a band like that! Or we could play some Klezmer! As you can tell, my musical direction is clear cut. I love friendly, interesting, and creative people so leave a message or comment and let's get some dialog going. |

My Interests |
Create Your Own! I brew my own beer (but drink very rarely), love to play Foosball (but play very rarely), I like steak (and eat it medium-rarely), play trumpet and bass in classical gigs, recorder in Renaissance ensembles, and have lots of fun in ska/blues/jazz settings on the trumpet. I like to paint and write stories . Well, I guess I should say come up with ideas for stories, since I never really flesh them out into real stories. I really like being around clever people and letting the conversation roll. I enjoy computer games from time to time but get worn out on them pretty easily. I hold grudges , but no one believes me. |

I'd like to meet:Larry Bird, Van Halen, Andrea Bocelli, Willie Nelson, Steve Martin, Tony Bennett, Yngwie Malsteem, Victor Wooten, Dave Matthews, Eric Clapton, Venture Capitalists, a really great web designer who has done a big e-commerce site. This is the kind of world I live in every day. |

Music:..Gogol Bordello, Gwen Stefani, Harry Partch, Sublime, Combustible Edison, Shakira, Maynard Ferguson, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Wynton Marsalis, Brian Setzer, Black Eyed Peas, Phil Driscoll, Al Hirt, Pussycat Dolls, Reel Big Fish, Mozart, The Canadian Brass, Van Halen. Here are a few musician jokes (yes, I know there are a lot more...) How do you get two piccolo players in tune? Shoot one of them. What's the difference between an onion and an oboe? No one cries when you chop up an oboe. What's the difference between a trampoline and a clarinet? You take off your shoes when you jump on a trampoline. Why did the chicken cross the road? To get away from the drum solo. How do you make a trumpet sound like a french horn? Stick your hand in the bell and miss a lot of notes. How can you tell when the double bass' are out of tune? Their bows are moving. Why don't trombone players play hide and seek? No one will look for them. I want to be a guitar player when I grow up. Now now Timmy, you can't do both. What's the difference between a bull and a orchestra? On a bull, the horns are in front and the @$$hole is in the back. What do you get when you play New Age music backwards? New Age music. |

Movies:..Silly movies in general, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Office Space, The Jerk, The Quest for the Holy Grail, The Blues Brothers |
Television:..Yes, I'm a teenage girl. I watch American Idol. |
Books:..I'm probably going to be reading "Genesis of a Music" by Harry Partch forever. There is so much more to him and his music than I ever imagined. I'm starting to think there's more there than I'll ever understand. In the first two chapters, he has quoted obscure musical texts and accoustical theories and sent me running to the dictionary more times than I would have ever expected. I just bought another copy so I can mark it up and try to understand it.Usually I read sci-fi or fantasy. I really like Tad Williams, Robin Hobb, and L.E. Modesitt. I've been trying to work through a list of like 400 books I compiled as "necessary" books to have read, but it is getting to be too much like homework. |
Heroes:..Harry Partch, Charles Ives, Maynard Ferguson, Percy Grainger, sandwichesThis is an awesome idea! Instead of trying a 1000.00 pizza, loan someone in a developing country 25.00. This would mean the world to them and their families. I'm 100% paid back so far, so it's not a scam or anything. |

I want to hire a stripper |
| I don't like strings in celery, kale, and stuff like that so when I get rich, I want to hire someone to strip those out. Plus might as well have them cut the crusts off my bread too. ... Posted by Bflat1 on Thu, 21 Jun 2007 02:44:00 PST |
