Try the BEST MySpace Editor and MySpace Layouts at MySpace Toolbox !I LOVE Martin guitars! (click to go there and see them!) The music of Gare (Gary Teed) reminds us of the 60's and 70's folk music. Maybe even a taste of the eighties (in his loops experiments). His guitar music has been called a cross between folk and country but he has his own unique style. He also has his own unique style with creating funky music from loops and samples. Playing guitar during his early 20's he stayed pretty much low key, never playing gigs or shows and prefering to simply entertain friends and himself with his music. He plays guitar totally by ear and never had any formal training. Life became more rushed and hectic causing him to put his guitar away for over 17 years. He picked it back up in 2004 and has been growing with it since then. Now, much older and out of work due to his health, he has immersed himself into his love of music. He has dusted off the old songs he wrote years ago and has even written a couple of new songs. The new methods of recording to a computer harddrive interested him. He uses Cakewalk Sonar to create his music. What you see here is the result so far. Rough recordings, no doubt. But, the music is theraputic for him. It has a calming effect. If others enjoy his music, he sees this as a bonus! He is influenced by Dan Fogelburg, John Denver, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Gordon Lightfoot, Jim Croce, James Taylor, John Prine and even Merle Haggard. Gary always sang along when one of these artists was being played (still does! ). His dad used to love Merle and played his music alot. It holds memories for Gare....... He also listened to the norm of pop and rock but these artists were the most influential on his guitar music style. He hopes you enjoy what you hear. Gare See my page on Multiply!
