| jane's driving force, singer/songwriter Randy Smith, has been performing since the late 1980's. He started out as lead vocalist and primary songwriter for the band A Date With Jane. When the group disbanded in 1992, Randy formed his own band, jane, and also began performing an acoustic solo act. With the addition of guitarist and singer/songwriter Mario Padovani in 2000, the band took on an edgier vibe which has become part of what jane is today. The music of jane reflects such diverse styles as pop, rock, blues and adult contemporary. Randy's songwriting emphasizes melody and relevancy. Over the years, jane has opened for such national acts as Sophie B. Hawkins, Firehouse and Peter Tork & Shoe Suede Blues. jane has performed throughout the Mid-Atlantic region as well as California and the Caribean. jane has recorded extensively throughout their career. Most of their work, including the new CD JADED, was recorded at Target Studios in Elkton MD with production by Marc Moss. |
