| Hey I'm Caroline Murdoch and a Songwriter for breakthrough and established artists. I've been songwriting for the past 8 years and one of the things I've learnt is how persistent you have to be within the music industry. I was once told that you need to keep writing to get better and not be afraid of changing a song. At the time I didn't understand the advice because I believed that what you wrote shouldn't change and if you can write you can write. I've since learnt that to be able to work within the industry you need to be able to re-write, adapt to different artists and get underneath what people want. When I write for someone I imagine I'm actually them on stage and I visualise what the audience wants from the song, how they'd feel hearing the melody and most importantly what the song means to the artist. I feel it's so important to always keep the artists voice in my head including their preferred key, tempo, image and expectation from me as a songwriter.

Music:Member Since: 6/17/2006Influences: My influences have to be my boyfriend Ed, family and two people I met in a supermarket! They were the ones that led me to take songwriting seriously. My tip for budding songwriters, talk, talk and talk some more to everyone and anyone! You never know who you might meet! Within the industry?
