| Studied music in the bachelor of music program at the University of British Columbia for four years. While pursuing his studies, began scoring films in 2003 and has since worked on nearly 30 short films, as well as numerous concert works and other media. Won Outstanding original score at the 2005 POV film festival for his score for Comic Zero-featuring a 20 piece orchestra conducted by John Trotter. Check out www.imdb.com for details on a small handful of the films I have done.As a new piece of info, I have just begun work as Vancouver Based Television composer Terry Frewer's assistant, which looks to be a fantastic experience, working on various Television series and other films.Also in new and interesting news, I am currently preparing a selection of pieces for release in the vein of Gothic Chamber Ensemble music. More on this to be announced later, but I am certain you will all enjoy it.

Music:Member Since: 6/16/2006Band Members: a Influences: This is a huge thing to try and comunicate, but I will do my best. I love to use heavy counterpoint, combined with the chromatic harmonies of the late romantics. Orchestral texture is important to me, as well as character, so I am fond of the Tone Poem and other later orchestral forms. When not writing for a specific film or game, I like to combine modern darker rock textures with a cinematic Danny Elfman style playfullness. I do make use of more "modern" approaches to writing such as serialism and atonality, but I believe everything is best in moderation. In short, it is hard to reduce ones influences when your tastes span 1000 years, so let's just say I am still studying hard and learning more about music every day. Perhaps someday I will reach my potential.
