About Me

Amick sang the role of Moses in the animated feature film, The Prince of Egypt. He has also starred in many plays and musicals including Phantom of the Opera, (Broadway and LA), Les Miserables, in the roles of Marius and Enjolras, and Sunset Boulevard as Joe Gillis playing opposite Glenn Close. Amick recently completed recording the voice of Aslan the Lion for Disney Records on a musical CD inspired by The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. He also has two Grammy nominations for vocal jazz albums. Amick has also starred in many television shows. You may recognize him as Ian Troi, Counselor Trois father from Star Trek, The Next Generation (he even has Star Trek trading cards with his name and picture that are collectors items for Trekkies). Some of Amicks other television guest roles have been on Ally McBeal, Kristin, Frasier, Friends, Saved By the Bell, and Superior Court on which he appeared as a series regular for 3 seasons playing attorney Darrell Guillary. As a voice over actor, Amicks voice can be heard on many television and radio commercials and singing voices in over 50 episodes of The Simpsons. Amick has performed on many movie soundtracks including Shrek, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, Pocahontas, Hercules, Mulan, El Dorado, and all three Matrix movies. Amick has just recorded a brand new CD called Encounter, in which each song on the CD is sung as a famous man from the Bible who is in the midst of a turning point or Encounter with God.

Sounds Like: "I've been blessed to have many great singers from Aretha Franklin to Frank Sinatra sing my songs, but one of the best ever is Amick Byram." -----Al Kasha, 2 time Academy Award winner for best song."Like everything Amick touches the sound is golden. The lyrics move you, the sound compels you and the voice inspires...his talent is a gift...and with this superb CD the gift can be shared with everyone. Simply the BEST." ------Tom Joerres...The Milwaukee Radio Group"Amick is truly one of Americas most gifted singers.""It's so nice to hear a real orchestra fronted by a singer with real talent."CCM Magazine--March 2005 (p.54): Amicks new CD Encounter has been featured in CCM magazine as Steve Greens Artist choice,Amick Byram is one such voice that ought not to be missed. He has performed in Broadway productions, sung on film sound tracks such as all three Matrix movies, Shrek, Beauty and the Beast and The Prince of Egypt. In his first solo CD, Encounter, he describes the critical spiritual Encounter in the lives of Abraham, Moses, Joseph, John The Baptist, Barabbas and others. His renditions are theatrical and captivating. If you close your eyes you can almost see the drama unfold. Who knows, the songs might even awaken in your heart a yearning for a fresh Encounter with God. -Steve Green
