| ..WERE did you grow up?I was born in Queens General Hospital on Febuary 8, 1977. I grew im South Jamaica Queens on the (((corner of 107 ave and Union Hall St.)) In the heart of it all cause i was dead smack in da middle of it. Like a sponge aborbing all my hood had 2 offer. As a lil youth with Jamaica parents, back then it wasnt cool to be Jamaican. Back in 1977 they look at Jamaican like they look at Mexican now in 2006, ithey would be like "Who the fuck are you". My accent use to get me into a lot of beefWHAT inspired you to start Djing?It all began back in the days, early 80's as a child my mom would take us 2 da local park, (("40 Park".)) We use to play in the park till late.We would see a red van(((TAPEMASTER.B))) pull up with a air horn on the top, sum dudes would pull out some Dj equipment and set it up by the Hand Ball court right next to the Basket Ball courts. Local Dj would start Jamming. There was always this one Dj that would stand out from the rest, i would always go up to the Turn Tables and watch him play. Amazed at his style and the professional way he carried himself, "his Swagger". I would say "Yo son i wanna b just like dat nigga rite there". The Treble u could hear for miles, every body knew when it was a Jam. They would come out to (("40 Park")). That tall slim dude that was Djing when i was a kid i found out that they called him "Grand Master Vic". Not all the time we was able to stay there cause after a while it WOULD crazy, more people then the park could handel.How did you start Djing?I start Djing in my moms house. In my bedroom with two mixed match turn tables and a Jemini mixer straight from Suptim Blvd Pawn shop, ya Queens heads know what im talking about. The funny part is one turn table was belt drive and the other was direct drive. I had a hand me down Amp and thats how ((DJFEEKA2000)) got started.Coming home mom said hit the books and id turn on the radio to do my homework, Id hear all type of tunes coming out da radio, scratch, cutting and transforming. Man this was back then when Graffitti was on da trains n the J train use to go all da way 2 Jamaica Ave and there was no E train. I was one of those lil NIGGAZ BACK THENHow did you get your DJ name?%I got my DJ name because my real name is Feeka. That in itself is a unique name that no one would have. PLUS I WAS GETING A LOT OF MONEY WIT MY NIGGA MOOK DIAMOND/OF DIAMOND ENT... WAS I WAS FUCKING WIT HIM I WAS SEEING ALOT OF $$$ SO 1 DAY ON THE CONER OF 160 AN 107 WE WAS CHILLIN AN OUT OF NO WERE HE SAID 2000 DO THIS SHIT YOUR DAMN SELF LOL!How would you describe your style of DJing?first my Djing style was straight dance hall reggea licka shot type of sound. Im fascinated with the reggea sound Jamaican bring to this country. It was more of a dancing movement but then being that i grew up around 100% Americans hip hop began to circulate.Where did you get your Hip-Hop style? I remember sitting at home watching Ralph McDaniel on canal 31 every day from 4 to 5. He would play hip hop videos. My moms didnt know to much about hip hop so she was cool wit us watching Raplh McDaniels video music box. That how i develop my style. I would watch Terminator X going crazy on the turn tables, he was the DJ for Public Enemy and other big time DJ like Jazzy Jeff, Jam Master Jay and also remember she was taking us to 40 Park where (((Grand Master Vic))) would play. Back then i was doing more listening to the radio. My first party was for Fatari an old school friend, he is one of my best friends from back then. It was in his house, man that shit was crazy. All this time all i was doing was practising in my house. I was real good my brother and sister would check out my jams and would listen to my blends and tell me "yo dat shit is hot". My lil brother helped me buy one of my turn tables, big up to himm (Ali Mazarati).
