| Who the heck is KANDELA ? Kandela is a female fronted five piece hard rock/metal band from Philadelphia , who has been performing the eastern part of the U.S for the past 6 years. Blending multiple style of rock/metal infused with latin flavor . Kandela has a sonic arsenal that will have most crowds salivating soon after the first note is played. Fluid , intense & explosive , leaving audiences wanting more.Formed in 1999 , Jorge Caraballo (Guitar + Vocals), Kenty love ( Bass), and Noel Mendez(Drums) had created what was to become one of the area's well respected original bands.2001 marked the addition of Ines Martinez nick name titi as KANDELA'S vocalist , making room for Jorge to commit solely to his extraordinary and blistering guitar talent , and to further enhance what was already an exceptional band. Ines added an even more energetic stage presence as well as a captivating voice to propel the band higher than before.In 2003 KANDELA recorded their first Cd , titled 1221 , and well over 10,000 copies have been distributed throughout the easter U.S. as well as in Puerto Rico. Shortly after recording 1221 , KANDELA decided to add a second guitar for a more dynamic live sound. While promoting 1221 , we met , auditioned and added Jim Boyer to the band . A year later jim had to leave for personal reasons. KANDELA found themselves searching for a guitarist , it wasen't long before we auditioned Mick Quiles , a goodfriend and also an adept musician. He brings a whole new sound to the band , adding complimentary melodies and harmonies propelling KANDELA even further.In 2005 , Kenty love decided to continue with his own band and left KANDELA. We were left searching for a bassplayer , we knew it would be a difficult task finding the missing ingridient , right away Jim Boyer came to mind. Not only did jim play bass but we were familiar with his style , and really liked the positive energy & chemistry we all shared . We were thrilled to get him back in KANDELA for 2006. Now KANDELA prepares for the next step........TOTAL WORLD DOMINATION!! Currently KANDELA has been concentrating on writing new material as well as playing venues in Philadelphia & Nj.
