About Me |

My name's Ruth aka dj ru! I have a great passion for music and my particular fave is Dance music. I've enjoyed listening to Dance music for many years but my love of music started way back when I was just a 'lil girl'. I started piano lessons when I was 7 and took exams up to grade 5. Throughout my school years I dabbled with different instruments, namely guitar, recorder (descant and treble) and violin. To this day I'm still exploring new instruments. I've always enjoyed composing music and writing songs and starting using sequencers (hardware - Casio with about 4 buttons on it!) when I was 14. I've progressed to other forms of hardware and keyboards, eventually moving onto software beginning with Music 2000 on the Playstation and ejay on the PC. I was introduced to Renoise ('tracker' based sequencer) and then started using FL Studio 5. I'm into dj-ing hence my love of Dance music! (in particular Trance). This has given me more of an insight into dance music production and how my music is made. I now mainly use FL Studio 6 and produce music from many genres including:- Trance, Drum n Bass, Breakbeat, Ambient and lyric based tracks.
