About Me

DMWTP formed in 2002. It was like the stork delivering a baby to an unbeknownst mother. It came from nowhere and the girls were left wondering what to do with this amazing creature. Other bands are formed with a sound in mind and a place where they already fit in. DMWTP was formed as three women wishing to create a new sound and a new direction. Blending natural and electronic sounds, whilst maintaining honesty and depth is what DMWTP is all about.
Music is about expression, openness and vulnerability. DMWTP share these traits as people, and this filters through to their performances and recordings. Their need to constantly evolve as songwriters and performers is the glue that holds this unique entity together. In a world where almost everything is disposable, DMWTP prove that music fused with courage, innovation and sensuality can be a powerful healing force and sonic alternative. With an eclectic check list of musical inspirations such as Led Zeppelin, Me’shell N’degeocello, The Dave Matthews Band and John Mayer, DMWTP have used this broad range of inspiration to produce a voice that is distinctly theirs.
Since forming the band, DMWTP has recorded two independent EPs including the first release Colour of Mind (2004), and The Four Secrets (2006). In July 2007 the band released a double single, "It's You I Love / The Right Moment" recorded and produced by Kalju Tonuma. In July 2007, DMWTP embarked on their first international tour. They performed at festivals and venues throughout British Columbia, Canada, achieving great responses from Canadian audiences.
DMWTP aspire to continually evolve as a band, building a career that will spawn many great musical works and impassioned moments. To sing, write and perform your own music is the ultimate job, and DMWTP fully aware of this, work 9 to 5, what a way to make a living!
