BAND BIO english version The band was born in September 2000 from an idea of Davide and Damiano, who were immediately joined by Michele Molinari (guitar) and the ex-singer of Absinthium, Andrea Cultrera. After Andrea’s departure in November 2000, Sara – ex-keyboard player in Sorrow Screaming (together with Damiano and Davide) and in Nybbas (together with Davide) – joined the band as main vocalist. In February 2001 the band aquired their second guitarist: Giorgio. The songwriting then became more and more intense; these first efforts gave birth, in November 2001 to the first demo Cd, simply titled “Any Face”. Since then the band started promoting as much as possible. The promotion gave them the opportunity and the satisfaction to play on many stages in the provinces Milan and Varese. In November 2002 a second four-piece Cd was published: “Hallucination”. Their cd contained 4 songs which showed in an even more explicit way the eclectic spirit of the band and the melting pot of various genres and influences which each musician took into it. Any Face focused then on promoting “Hallucination” and their music and this gave them the chance to play on many Italian stages such as Rainbow and Mazdapalace in Milan , Tempio in Pavia with other Italian bands including Matrioska, Moravagine, Karnak and Linea 77. In September 2003 Michele Molinari decided to quit the band for personal reasons. In the same month Any Face started working in studio on a new song, included in the second volume of Radio Lupo Soliatrio’s compilation (“New noise compilation”). In that period Any Face worked also on more technical and extreme songs After working in studio the attention of the band was focused on writing new songs and on searching an even more personal sound than the past one. The aim was fulfilled and they decided to name UNTIDY CORE their genre because the new songs reminded many different musical genres mixed together to the same extent. In January 2004 the drummer Damiano was forced to stop playing for some months because of a serious accident to his hand. Therefore in 2004 live shows were reduced. There were ,however, important occasions to play with their friends Karnak, SKW and Morbus Gravis. Any Face planned to start recording their first album “Craving out of mist” in Spring 2005 and it is supposed to be published in September 2005 by the French recording label Deadsun Records, they are signing a contract with in January 2005. BIOGRAFIA 2000 Settembre - la band nasce per iniziativa di Davide Stura e del batterista Damiano Mazzoli, a cui si uniscono il chitarrista Michele Molinari e l’ex cantante degli Absinthium Andrea Cultrera. Novembre - dopo l’abbandono di quest’ultimo il ruolo di cantante viene ricoperto da Sara Usai, ex tastierista dei Sorrow Screaming (con Damiano e Davide) e dei Nybbas (con Davide). 2001 Febbraio - il gruppo recluta come secondo chitarrista Giorgio Bianchi e da quel momento si dedica alla scrittura dei propri brani. Novembre - i primi sforzi della band si concretizzano con l’incisione di un primo demo CD di cinque pezzi intitolato semplicemente “Any Face ”. Da quel momento inizia l’attività promozionale che porta il gruppo a suonare su numerosi palchi delle provincie di Varese e Milano. 2002 Novembre - viene inciso il secondo demo CD di quattro brani “Hallucination”. L’attività promozionale per “Hallucination” si rivela più intensa della precedente: porta gli Any Face a calcare alcuni dei più importanti palcoscenici nazionali, come il Rainbow di Milano, il Tempio di Pavia ed il Mazdapalace (ex Palavobis) di Milano, supportando in alcune occasioni diversi nomi di rilievo della scena nazionale e non (Matrioska, Moravagine, Karnak e Linea 77). 2003 Settembre - Michele Molinari lascia il gruppo per motivi personali. Ottobre - gli Any Face entrano in studio per registrare una nuova canzone, inclusa nel secondo volume della compilation di Radio Lupo Solitario (“New noise compilation”). 2004 L’attività live viene notevolmente ridotta a causa di un grave incidente subito da Damiano alla mano destra, che lo costringe a fermarsi per diversi mesi. I pochi concerti suonati sono in compagnia degli amici Karnak, SKW e Morbus Gravis. 2005 Gennaio - gli Any Face firmano un contratto con l’etichetta discografica francese Deadsun Records / Bunker Inc che si occupa di pubblicare e distribuire il loro album di debutto “Craving out of mist”. Febbraio / Maggio - viene registrato l'album. Ottobre - Damiano Mazzoli decide di lasciare gli Any Face. Dopo pochi giorni viene sostituito da Omar Cappetti (Ancestral Stigmata, ex Absinthium, ex Nybbas, ex Distillery ed altri). 2006 Febbraio - esce per Deadsun Records "Craving out of mist". L'album è distribuito in Europa e nel continente americano, ma non in Italia. Ottiene su diverse webzines e riviste musicali buone recensioni. Settembre - a causa di divergenze tra i vari componenti, gli Any Face si sciolgono. 2007 Novembre - la band rinasce con una nuova formazione: Andrea Cultrera (ex Absinthium, ex Guttural Opera e primo cantante degli Any Face) alla voce; Antonio Pollizzi (ex Ancestral Stigmata ed ex Arisen) alle chitarre; Davide Stura (Ancestral Stigmata) al basso; Omar Cappetti (Ancestral Stigmata e altri) alla batteria. Dicembre - a causa dei numerosi impegni, Omar abbandona la band. 2008 Gennaio - Antonio Marcon - a.k.a. Krigse - (ex Ancestral Stigmata, ex Ancient) è il nuovo batterista del gruppo. Gli Any Face stanno attualmente componendo nuove canzoni, che denotano un'ulteriore estremizzazione del loro sound sia a livello tecnico che di impatto sonoro. |
