About Me |
|
| I'm just a red-blooded American guy who semperiternally struggles to harmoniously integrate the commercial, popular culture which indelibly influenced his youth with his generally idealistic, passionate feelings about appreciating Love, Life, and Learning to the fullest. I dig adventure and excitement... I'm in touch with my funky inner child... I'm a major scifi geekazoid who loves to rock out... I HATE ignorant, apathetic, superficial assholes... I'm a total hippie sympathizer... And of course I'm a stupid, incurable, romantic FOOL... Welcome to my world... I am the Thumb I'm unique and flexible... and I defy any category. Mentally strong and agile, I do things my own way... and I do them well. I am a natural leader... but also truly a loner. I inspire many but connect with few. I get along well with: The Middle Finger (hell yeah!) I should stay away from: The Pinky What Finger Are You? |

The Appalachian Trail I completed a 1,000-mile, four-month hike of the Appalachian Trail (GA to PA) in July 2006. During this time, I kept a blog here about my Journey. Below are links to entries and pictures which might provide more information if you are curious about the AT or planning your own thru-hike: 1. Cost of a thru-hike. 2. The gear I used after four months on the Trail. 3. Examples of essential gear (with photos). 4. Examples of the food I ate (with photos). 5. Photos of my hike from Springer Mt., Georgia, to Erwin, TN. 6. Photos of my hike from Erwin, TN, to Damascus, VA. 7. Photos of my hike from Damascus, VA, to Caledonia State Park, PA. 8. Trail Days 2006. 9. My Ten Fundamental Truths About Thru-hiking the AT 10. My Trailcast.com interview at Miss Janet's House hostel. Some more good resources for contacting real thru-hikers are: trailjournals.com and whiteblaze.net . If you have any other questions concerning the AT, please feel free to ask me about it by writing to randy9171@hotmail.com . |
