About Me |

Bio: Formed in the summer of 2004. By winter of 2006 the band had written and recorded their 65 minute self titled full length album. Having independently sold over 500 copies of their debut album, Damascus has developed a loyal following garnering them 4 straight appearances at Manitoba Metalfest featuring such bands as Unexpect (TheEnd) Anonymous (Galy) & legendary Canadian thrash band Sacrifice. As the band began getting tighter musically, the songs became longer and more technical with songs ranging from 2-14 minutes in length. Infusing multiple styles of heavy music which include Death Metal, Hardcore, Grindcore, Black Metal, Thrash Metal, Progressive and even Acoustic. Damascus have been hard to label other then just a straight up metal band. 2007: With tour booking through Galy Records, Damascus has been fortunate to go on a cross Canada summer tour sponsored by Unrestrained Magazine in support of their 1st full length record with Galy Records band Blinded by Faith. 2008: March 18th will see the Canada wide release of our self titled debut through Galy Records Distribution and FAB Distribution, also available world wide via FAB Distribution Digital Distro. Damascus completed their Eastern Canadian tour with Catamenia (Massacre) from Finland. A music video is currently unfolding documenting the intensity of their live shows and their love for the art of film. Not letting bassist line-up changes falter this dedicated four Damascus will continue playing, touring and writing the music they love. We have just recently finished writing Our new full length album "Evolution Annex" pre-production has begun & recording is scheduled for this year. 2009: Tour our new album! Damascus has shared the stage with such bands as: Electroquarterstaff (Williowtip), Putrescence (Power It Up/No Escape/1%), Neuraxis (Prosthetic), Misery Index (Relapse), Martyr (Galy), Quo Vadis (Skyscraper Music),Thine Eyes Bleed (The End), The Ocean (Metalblade) and Into Eternity (Century Media) including their hometown Cd Release for "The Scattering of Ashes" Copy and paste this code to put this in your MySpace profile!
