Books:Last Book Read - Evil Spirits: The Life of Oliver Reed by Cliff Goodwin.Quality book!!!Oliver Reed died as he had invariably lived: drinking with friends while making yet another film - "Gladiator". Drawing on material from those who knew him, this book reveals much about Reed's past, such as his involvement with the south London underworld, and the women in his life and inventor of the "Wimbledon 8" so called as it involved touring the eight pubs surrounding Wimbledon Common - namely the Hand in Hand, the Crooked Billet, the Fox and Grapes, Rose and Crown, Firestables, the Brewery Tap, the Dog and Fox and Finch's. Down a pint in 15 minutes then sprint to the next pub. His record was 2 laps in 4 hours! |
