| Started drums when I was 4 (see picture ;-) ),dad was a professional musician. He used to listen to Tower of Power (great David Garibaldi grooves!!), Billy Cobham, James Brown, Deodato, Stevie Wonder, Santana, Average White Band, tons of jazz big bands, Miles Davis, Chet Baker, Chick Corea etc..records while I would try to recreate the drummer's parts... I don't remember how and exactly when but around 1994 I got introduced to a new type of music, a new mixture of funk and jazz, a repetitive but still entertaining groove...the name was A Tribe Called Quest, the music rap, and there it was, love at first listening, I knew I would never leave her!I started beatmaking on a cheap but fun little drum machine in 1995, trying to recreate them rap beats, as I did on my drums with dad's records, formed a band (S.A.F.=Sans Avenir Fixe...) with a friend, we were 2 mcs having fun...'til I realised I had nothing interesting to say, so I decided to stick to beatmaking (a lot of mc's should consider the option...hm hm)...Life went on, I discovered more and more genius artists making great music in lots of styles, from Count Basie to Led Zeppelin, Peter Tosh to Jimi Hendrix, Average White Band to Tito Puente...got introduced to Pete Rock, Jay Dee and later Madlib and Kev Brown, and here I am creating beats for whoever want it...
