| About time I got rid of that long winded, self-indulgent blurb that I had on here before, because it was pretty rubbish really and people kept telling me off ;0) Basically I like to sing. Some say i’m pretty good at it. I like to Genre-hop too because i’m a little indecisive. I find that particularly troublesome in restaurants. Me and menu’s don’t get on in a speedy capacity. I am quite sure though that I would like to get more ethnic influences into my music. That would really float my boat cos I’m a bit of a Heinz 57 myself. I’m Irish/Iranian brought up by a Cantonese fella; so I’ve got a bit of temper, pretty good for a boogie and I have terrible table manners. Not sure what’s nature or nurture, not sure it even matters. Ooh... and Airports think I might be a terrorist. :p (Ok that’s not really true but it made my story more interesting didn’t it?) Think it really is coming to a time where I have to decide which box i’m in though, think that’s probably how you start to sell lots of records cos then peeps can go into a shop and know how to find and buy you... suppose it won’t be that bad as long as I get to paint my box with loveliness. :0)I’m working on lots of different projects at the moment. Writing my first solo album which I will start giging very soon, got a nice little spice on the blend for that, so watch this space!! Also working with some bloody fine musicians on things and wotsits; all of whom you can check out in my first 6 top friends... Spuek is a very talented man and I’m very excited about collaborating with him for his next album. His first album is out now and boasts lots of great UK Mc’s. Very sweet ear candy, go on have a peek... be a glutton! Parker is a Bristol based Dj, also with a fine new album out. DAve Pearson is an exceptional guitarist I met whilst up North. He’s just recorded with Corrine Bailey-Rae, which I’m very jealous about. (She’s wonder filled that one isn’t she?!) Anyway, so Dave & I are making an EP from our Golden ratio sessions, which you can listen to in their truly raw forms (Eek:0/) (Top Frnds) Bob Birch (Papadub/New Mastersounds) & Joe Love (Jon Jo Feather) were also part of that yummy jambalya and I’m sure you can get to them with some wandering navigations. *some text missin* T’others after 6 are people & musicians I like, mixed in with some musical aquaintainces past & present. Miss Topley- Bird for instance, is a huge inspiration to me and a lovely lovely to boot. I have been doing some Backing Vox for her over the past year, which has made me super smiley :0) She’s got a new album coming out very soon (Blue God) and It’s bloody brilliant; I suggest you go have a lookey lookey listen... Doris&Doris is a clothing company run by another lovely I know and you should most definitely check out her wares; they’re beautiful! As for anyone else that I haven’t yet mentioned,you should just have a little nose me thinks, as these scribbles are still in infancy.... |
