The brutality in their grind is much more real. I think this really shines through and shows itself through the face of the talent, production, and overall quality of their material. The vocals are so fucking different than the other shit out there right now. The guitar melodies are strangely familiar but follow much different patterns than other acts. So, I guess truth be told, ASFTS isn't even really grind. They're floating along aimlessly in their own space, playing something really unique, and that is one of the most important aspects of being a musician; being able to create without barriers. So hats off to you guys, you're doing something right now no one else is doing in your scene: making something new and fresh. —LORD LYCAN— This band is good at varying the musical expression. The Streets Have Eyes is not a blastbeat contest from start to finish, but the unit do know how to play fast. The vocals are more of a shouting type than growls, but it goes well with the music. Most of the songs barely clock two minutes, but this adds only to the intensity and nerve of the music as there are no filler. It’s quite amazing how much diversity and catchiness the band are able to squeeze into a single song. The production is dirty, but not in a bad way. It fits the music just right. If you like direct and not too generic music then The Streets Have Eyes is recommendable —SUPREME BRUTALITY.NET— Gritty metal that’s both menacing and brutal with blast beats and crust guitars blazing. Filthy vocals scream in wretched horror throughout “The Streets Have Eyes” which is a perfect merger between crust and grindcore. Incredibly talented, ASFTS is peerless in their aptitude to deliver punishing ear assaults with explosive energy and dynamic metal filth. Most songs are under two minutes but you still feel like you listened to countless anthems by the end of this gut-buster. —SMOTHER MAGAZINE— .. |
