| ***ENGLISH***: Póg mo thón is from the Basque Country, even if its name is Gaelic. “Pogmo” sings in Basque. Although geographically surrounded by Indo-European languages, Basque is believed to be an isolated language: it is not an Indo-European language, meaning that it does not belong to Germanic, Slavic, Celtic, or Romance, nor to any other family.The first album, titled “Itzalitako argi bakoitzeko” (2006), is the follow up to the demo “El otro lado”, which propelled “Pogmo” into the limelight throughout 2005 and has kept them there ever since. “Itzalitako argi bakoitzeko” has been recorded at “Garate Studios” by Haritz Harreguy (S.A, Berri Txarrak, Second Silence) and mastered at West West Side Music Studios in New York by Alan Douches (Sepultura, Sick of it all, Mastodon…). ***EUSKERA***: Pog mo thon-en ezaugarririk esanguratsuena bere etengabeko bilakaera da. Boskote Mungiarrak hastapenetan zenaren antz gutxi du egun. Ikasiz etengabe hobetzeko gogo hori da agian hasiera hartatik geratzen den bakarra. Argi zeukaten hasiera hartan Markelek (ahotsa), Juanmak( baxua) eta Kaskak(gitarra) talde hartan jotzea eta euren egunerokoan musikak orokorrean zeukan garrantzia zirela euren bizipoza. Taldeak estilo desberdinak jorratu izan ditu hasierako hardcore melodiko hartatik eta gaur egunera. Berdintsu gertatu da taldekideen joan etorriarekin, arestian aipatu hirurak baitira gaur egun dirauten bakarrak. Hasierako maketa bi albo utzita, Benat gitarra-jolea (Moebius) sartzearekin batera ekin zioten euren lehen lan luzea grabatzeari. Lamina producciones-en grabatu zuten, Natxo Liberty teknikari zela. Urte oparoa izan zen berau. Batetik, Euskadi Gazteko maketa lehiaketan entzulearen lehenengo saria irabazi zutelako. Baina ez zen horretan geratu. Musikadero elkarteko maketa lehiaketarako izan ziren aukeratuak. Bestalde, Zero Records diskoetxeak, Metal alternativo vol. 2 famaturako jaso zuen taldearen lehen lan hartako "A game called life" kanta, hainbat lekutan zeresana eman zuena. Euskadi gazteak atera zuen cd-an "A game called life" eta "Zauritu bat jaso dute" kantak agertu ziren, azken honen letra Igor Estankona poeta finak idatzi zuelarik. Urte hartan Julen bateria-jolea(Trust, Desfassion) sartu zen taldean, eta nabarmen igarri zuen taldeak beronen ekarria. Urte berean Skunk D.F. eta Kannon-en biratan aritu ziren. Kontzertu ugari eman ostean, hurrengo lana prestatzeari ekin zioten. Ia urtebeteko lana, konposaketa arloan ordura arte egindako beharrik handiena. Barru-barrutik eta bihotzez. Haritz Harreguyrekin jarri ziren kontaktuan, berak diskoa ekoiztea baitzen Pog mo thon-ekoen lehentasuna. Baiezkoa izan zen Haritzen erantzuna, eta oparoa izan da bere lanaren emaitza. Garaten grabatu dute, Andoainen. Bakoitzaren eguneroko betebeharrak albo utzita eta hilabete osoan zehar jo eta su bakoitzak zeukan onena emanda. Nahasketak amaitu ostean, New York-era igorri da lana, West West Side-era (Sepultura, Sick of it all, Mastodon, Snapcase, Atreyu, Thrice...), masterizazioa bertan egiteko. Taldeak euskara hutsez abesten du lan honetan, eta Markel eta Benat taldekideek egin dituzten letrez gain Igor Estankonak eta Gotzon Barandiaranek letra bana idatzi dituzte. "Lorratza" kantan Rafa Ruedak abestu du. Gazteok management enpresak fitxatu du taldea, eta diskoa berriz Babel zigiluak aterako du. Pog mo thon-ek diskoetxe batekin aterako duen lehen lana da, eta beronen izena, "Itzalitako argi bakoitzeko". Berrehun taldetik gora aurkeztu diren 2007ko Leioako Pop Rock lehiaketako irabazle suertatu dira metal arloan. ***CASTELLANO***: Quizas sean la evolucion y el cambio lo que caracterice a Pog mo thon. La verdad es que el quinteto de Mungia poco o nada se parece a lo que fue en sus comienzos. Empezaron componiendo hardcore melodico, para ir pasando sucesivamente por diferentes etapas y estilos, hasta llegar a la mezcla de rock, metal, hardcore y melodia que es hoy en día . Siguen en el grupo tres miembros de aquella primera formacion: Markel (voz), Juanma (bajo), y Kaska (guitarra). Con las mismas ganas de aprender y evolucionar que entonces. Dejando a un lado las dos primeras maquetas, y coincidiendo con la entrada en el grupo del guitarra Benat (Moebius), graban su primer disco El otro lado en Lamina producciones, con Natxo Liberty como tecnico y productor, dando comienzo a un ano muy productivo para el grupo. Por una parte, ganan el primer premio del oyente en el concurso de maquetas de Euskadi Gaztea. Zero Records selecciona la cancion A game called life para su CD recopilatorio de nivel internacional Metal alternativo vol. 2. Con la entrada del actual bateria Julen (Trust, Desphassion), son seleccionados para tocar en el concurso de maquetas de Musikadero. Participan también ese mismo año, tanto en la gira de Kannon como en la de Skunk d.f. como teloneros. Despues de muchos conciertos por todo el panorama musical de Euskal Herria, se disponen a grabar su nuevo disco tras mas de medio año de composicion. Graban el disco en Garate Studios de Andoain, con Haritz Harreguy de tecnico y productor. Un mes de duro trabajo, con la recompensa de ser fichados por el sello Babel Musik, siendo el primer trabajo con sello discografico del grupo. El CD se manda a masterizar a New York, a los estudios West West Side Music de Alan Douches (Mastodon, Sepultura, Sick of it all, Snapcase, Atreyu...), con Alan como tecnico. Aparte de las letras escritas por Markel y Benat, participan en el disco los poetas Gotzon Barandiaran e Igor Estankona. Asimismo, destaca tambien la colaboracion de Rafa Rueda en las voces, en la cancion Lorratza. El grupo esta centrado en los directos, con hambre de conciertos y con ganas de dar a conocer el nuevo trabajo: Itzalitako argi bakoitzeko. Son seleccionados para la final del concurso de Leioa Pop Rock entre más de doscientos grupos. La final de la sección de metal se celebró en directo junto a Eko4 y Falso Dogma, y salieron ganadores. |
