They enjoy performing and opening up for National Acts and always love meeting new fans which some have turned out to be very good friends. Jeff Ellis works out of his home studio to write and record songs on a continual basis and brings the songs to the other members of the band at rehearsal where the guys will add their personal touch to bring the song alive on stage. THE CAUZE is looking for a record label to shop their cd around the world and to tour the U.S. and other countries. Right now the enjoy performing in Southern California and having a great time doing it. More about each band member below: Jeff Ellis was raised in Newport Beach in Southern California. Jeff learned to play left handed guitar by ear at the age of 7 years old and has been playing ever since. COOL FACTS: Jeff Ellis was in a band during his freshman and sophmore years at Newport Harbor High School called IMPACT with one of the founding members of TRAIN, Robbie Hotchkiss. Jeff also gave guitar lessons to the bass player of TRAIN, Charlie Colin. Jeff opened up for POISON and GREAT WHITE while they were still performing in the local circuit. He has many influences which some include: JOURNEY, VAN HALEN, UFO and DOKKEN. Jeff played with some local bands in Orange County such as: IMPACT, ALIVE, SPECTRUM, CRYSTAL IMAGE, and CHASER. Later he was flown out to Naples, Florida to perform with FALSE ALARM, however, after 6 months the grudge music became big and Jeff decided to fly back to California. He moved to Arcadia, California and married his wife Concetta and had two children and now reside in Azusa Canyon, California. During this time Jeff continued to play guitar at local churches in the Worship Team in Monrovia, Glendora and Corona and still continues to work this is in schedule today. A few years ago Jeff decided to record some of his songs in his home recording studio and produced his first cd and performed all the instruments and vocals, he shared this cd with family and friends and received a great response with encouragement to shop his cd to record labels and to form a band to get his music heard live. In 2005 THE CAUZE was formed. Jeff's favorite hobbies include going to the Colorado River with family and friends, harley rides, dirt bike riding and of course playing his guitar and writing songs. Amongst his hobbies Jeff worked for Kaiser Permanente for 17 years as a Superintendent and has moved to one of the largest companies in the United States "Swinerton" in Los Angeles. Jeff's Gear Jeff's main axes are, a modified Fender Stratocaster and a Les Paul Customsquo; Supreme. All of Jeff's guitars are equipped with Seymour Duncan JB pickups at the bridge position. He also plays a Takamine Electric Acoustic. Guitars are strung with GHS 9 ga. boomers. Jeff uses Marshall Amplification exclusively. Jeff now uses the new Marshall 100 watt JVM amp. This powers 1960 Lead 4X12 Marshall Cabinets with celestion speakers. His pedal board is loaded with a Boss super overdrive, Boss Stereo Chorus, Line 6 echo park delay through a Boss Noise Suppressor. He uses a Senhieser G2 Wireless for the bigger venues. Joel Ellis was born in Sacramento, CA. and raised in Pasadena, CA. After graduating from Crescenta Valley High School, he now resides in Monrovia, CA. Having a passion for sports Joel played baseball for the City of Sierra Madre for 8 years. While living in Pasadena, Joel was influenced by many great rock bands such as Van Halen , Armored Saint , and V.V.S.I. As a mere teen Joel hit the Hollywood circuit and has opened for many successful artists such as Warrant, Great White, Bullet Boys, King Kobra , Tuff , Michael Angelo and has played many high profile KNAC shows. Joel's favorite hobbies include collecting Artist signature guitar picks, of which he has over 5000 of them. Guitar collecting is a passion for him as well. He owns a few very rare guitars that were previously owned by successful musicians. The biggest blessing and Joel's greatest love is spending time with his Son, which he hopes will follow in his footsteps someday, with his love for sports and music. Joel's Gear: Guitars include an aged ‘59 reissue Gibson Les Paul , ‘87 black Jackson Soloist custom, and ‘88 Jackson Soloist Custom painted purple with Flintstones graphics. Amps include a Mesa Boogie 4 channel Roadster and a Mesa Boogie MK. III. Effects are a T.C. Electronics G Force, a Boss noise suppressor and Sennheiser Digital 1000. All screaming guitar sounds go through two Mesa Boogie Rectifier cabinets. Kevin Crider was raised in the San Francisco Bay area. Then moved to seattle for 6 years. He now resides inNorthridge, California. He plays 10 instruments with bass as his main focus. He started playing at the age of 14. Kevin produced and played on a CD called SIGNATURES which had guest players such as: Ronnie Montros, Rick Derringer, Pat Travers, Steve Morse, Clarence Clemmons and more. THE CAUZE is enjoying and feeling grateful to be opening up for so many National Acts in Southern California and look forward to many more. THE CAUZE Jeff Ellis just signed a Record Deal with Blastzone Ent. Group/Nightmare Records Distribution on June 2nd 2008. Our cd "IRON HORSES" will be out this this Summer 2008 and a cd release party scheduled for September/October and we will keep you posted.
