To tell your friends: CLICK HERE NOW! jON aDAMS-BIO In an industry where so many artists only seem interested in getting people to think they are cool or in getting people to respect them, Jon Adams' intent is to give voice and melody to peoples' pain, longing, joy, and desperation. Everyone has these emotions in small, but often seemingly infinite amounts; maybe that's why everybody can hear themselves in this record. It offers an outlet and words to sing from the heart. This is really not surprising as it represents three years of experience, the good the bad and the ugly, distilled into one beautiful piece of music. Jon Adams grew up in Nova Scotia. At the age of fifteen, he discovered the guitar and life changed forever. A total "metal head", he found an amazing outlet in loud guitars and garage bands. He also discovered the total bliss of song writing. Jon played electric guitar in various bands throughout high school and was happy to let others take the mic. Though the idea of singing was something that appealed to him, the talent seemed to elude him, but then again, he had never really tried. Finally a three-piece group he was playing in had no one else, and he was coerced into taking the role of backup singer. Surprisingly it was not all bad, and friends were shocked to find out that Jon had a piercingly clear, tenor voice. Starting in 2002 Jon co-founded a rock/pop group called One Rich Fool. Based out of Toronto, they toured Canada with more than 70 dates and several television appearances across the country. Here he gained more and more experience as a performer, vocalist and, most importantly, as a songwriter. When conflicts within the band tore it to pieces, it seemed that perhaps this was the end. He had recently married his wife Stacie, so maybe it was time to settle down and get a real job? But that's not what happened. It was this experience that brought about the necessary inward reflection and sense of loss to bring the singer out of Jon. Songs began to come, songs that seemed to be beautiful vessels for the emotion that was poured into them and elude any description past "rock slash...something?". Jon had found a seemingly limitless supply of inspiration in his life, his marriage and the experiences that had led up to this point. He became determined to develop his voice to its full potential, and with a solid year of hard work, it became the vehicle through which these songs could be truly communicated. Finally, after everything that has led up to it, this record is about to be heard. Ultimately, Jon Adams' story is one of struggle, determination, and "finding your voice" when you thought you had none. |
