Order the New Stanton Moore CD "III" Click Here Check out the Stanton Moore Stoore Click Here Stanton Moore, founding member of the immensely popular steamroller funk band Galactic, grew up in the thriving New Orleans music scene, where he absorbed the rich musical heritage of the city. In the early 90s, along with Robert Mercurio and Jeff Raines, Moore formed an early version of Galactic. Moore's involvement and devotion to Galactic since then has not prevented him from expanding his musical vision, as he has performed and recorded with a wide variety of musicians including Garage-a-trois (featuring Charlie Hunter, Skerik and Mike Dillon), MG5 (featuring Robert Walter, Will Bernard, Robert Mercurio and Donald Harrison), George Porter, Leo Nocentelli, Irma Thomas, The Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Juvenile and Corrosion of Conformity. He has recorded three records as a leader-1998's All Kooked Out (featuring Charlie hunter, Skerik and a cast of New Orleans musicians) and 2002's Flying the Koop (featuring Skerik, Karl Denson, Chris Wood and Brian Seeger). His forthcoming trio album, recorded in New Orleans at Preservation Hall in January of 2006, will feature Robert Walter (Greyboy Allstars, Robert Walters 20th Congress), Will Bernard (T.J. Kirk), Skerik (Critters Buggin, Garage A Trois), and Mark Mullins (MuleBone, Bonerama). The album is slated for release in September of 2006.
