About Me |
|
Eric Stadler was first introduced to the world of music while still in the womb when his mother used headphones to expose her unborn child to classical masterpieces such as those by the likes of Beethoven, Resphighi, and Mozart. Even as a very young child, Eric greatly appreciated advanced forms of music, opting for more elaborate musicianship rather than most mainstream forms of music. Primarily self taught, Eric spent a significant time under the study of "Well Hungarians" Todd Jones and the acclaimed instructor Gavin Grace. Early works include the collaboration of the band "Red Destiny" including "On Tracey Lane's" Darryn Yates. Eric is as enthralled with melody as he is with technique; creating a subtle yet expressive fusion filled with passion and unique intensity. Having played the St. Louis local scenes in various cover bands, he is well known for his passionate style and technical ability. "Man, this cat is awesome" -Michael Molenda editor Guitar Player Magazine As soon as I heard the first 45 seconds of "Category 3", I had to hit pause, pick my balls up off the floor, and proceed to discard them in the trash compactor of the kitchen sink. The reason for this is because, after I heard Eric's work, I realized that my balls were worthless, and that they were no good any way. If anyone out there wants to know what a REAL set of "cahona's" looks like, look no further than the new master of the axe, Eric Stadler. The tone immediately reminded me as a cross between Eric Johnson, and Michael Angelo Batio. But the speed and acuracy in which his fingers flew surpassed every single one of the thousands of guitarist that I've heard in the last 10 years. Not only does he leave all the rest of us so called "guitar players" in the dust, but the unorthodox timing, and original style of backgrounds, and atmospheric expressions layered throughout each of his works, just leaves us with even more places for our boggled minds to explore, once again leaving even the most analitical listener, or critic, completely SPEECHLESS!!!! My personal favorite was "Modern Mind". Though, all of his tracks are..for a lack of better words, BAD ASS and RELENTLESS in their delivery, "Modern Mind" is the one that I can still hear for hours, and hours on in, even after I've pressed the STOP button on my player. Now, I must bring this all to a close, mainly because I'm already having withdrawals, and I need to play some more Eric Stadler before I have to find a needle, and some thread, and sew closed the open wound from which my balls fell out earlier. So, I'll end by saying this: ERIC STADLER is the definition of "guitar virtuoso", and if anybody begs to differ, I'll cut your little worthless balls off as well!!! Thanks Eric for exposing me to your playing, I now have a new, and fresh role model in the world of guitar to look up to, and that person my friend is YOU!!
