It is rare that we, as a world of passionate listeners of music, are graced with the likes of true and timeless, risktaking music. Bands like Led Zeppelin, Rush, Yes, Pink Floyd, and Tool have reminded our parents, older generations, and us that there is in fact an array of colours outside of what you have been prescribed. Enter Aria Darkening. A foursome comprised of an event designer, an audio engineer, a tattoo artist, and a keyboard salesman. All are disparate lives, even from disparate locations, but unified in beauty, dissonance, and bed-sheet-ghost fetishes. We won't lie to you, the music can be abrasive as it can be caressing. But it is nonetheless heartstopping and addictive. What are the goals of Aria Darkening? We don't know. Thing is, neither do you. What? But what we do know is that Garret Bever and Chris Golen, Skylar Feigel and Marc Anderson did in fact by some happenstance meet. It was too easy and too good to be true... and we all just knew it was time to embark on a serious journey of risk, and start climbing this hill of razorblades where even music that once took risks has slowly taken on the appearance of a 36-24-36 no good plastic whore with a belly full of white stuff.
