| jnaybaby.com!Jnay is a native west Londoner whose music is an eclectic mix of soul, delivering a fresh take on retro and new wave sounds, all wrapped up in electrifying live stage performances. A comparison can be drawn with some of the greats; Sam Cooke, Al Green, Prince etc------ HISTORY------ in 1998 jnay decided to to leave the theactrical environment that he loved so much, and focus all his energies on music. A duo was formed with a young arist named Shad. and the two embarked on a jouney under the group name Nu-park. after meeting wit industry vetran Jazz black. it was decided this group would be expanded to a five piece (Shad, Mylz (Tyga) Raheem and Anton Gordon). The group did not last long due to the over saturation of similar bands and subsequently dispanded, tho in that short space of time jnay rekindled his love for playing Keys and learned the Guitar.
At this turning point in 2001 that He wrote material that made A Mobo award winner 2003 (Best Unsigned Act). with his self penned track "Soul Glo". after a brief stint with Island Records. it was clear that performing was the primary focus. introducing him to many music organisers and bands throughout the UK and some of the world ( artists such as Basement Jaxx, Enrique Iglesias, Leann Rimes, Hugh Masekela,Jazz Jamaica, Bearfoot). Also writting with many song writers Renown and obscure alike, to date. After almost 10 years experience some harder then others, has not deter a young performer tryin to deliver Quality music to the people who want to hear it.-------Present------- In 2008 jnay appeared on Britons next top model which was filmed at the launch of his first CD. Currently doing a resident with the SEB collective, where it enables him to Show off the acoustic flavours, big band sets, and the occasional P.A. Showing that you don't have always keep it live to make music credible and incredibly fun.Look out for Jnay.
