About Me |
I edited my profile with Thomas’ Myspace Editor V3.6 ! Reads Too Much Raving Liberal Evangelical Atheist Nukeworker Extraordinaire I Love My Kitties Radical Feminist Beer Snob Drive Too Fast I live in the backwoods of Mississippi, a transplant from DFW. I therefore amuse myself in my hermitage by reading excessively, probably too much for my own good. I especially enjoy sci-fi (good stuff, no cheesy space-opera), surrealist fantasy, and philosophy. I'm a bibliophile, and take it to extremes. I'll read the shampoo bottle if nothing else is available. I'm a radical atheist, in that I honestly feel everyone should be atheistic, or at least humanist in deed, and that religion is harmful. Theists, I feel, are simply victims of their environment, and are prey to various logical fallacies. If they honestly applied critical thinking skills, the church state separation issue would be moot. I am an anomaly in the south, a homegrown flaming liberal. I'm pro-choice no matter what, and would almost sanction a belief in hell for the likes of Coulter and Limbaugh. I have become a bit of a misanthrope as the Bush administration wreaks its havoc, but am always pleased to meet other anomalies. I am also willing to engage in debate with the rabble, providing they have the capacity to manage it. |

My Interests |
I'd like to meet:God. I'm not an atheist because it is particularly comforting to believe that life ends with oblivion. Buddha or any other diety would be acceptable as well.Barring those guys, I'm willing to talk to anyone. If you want to chat about books, politics, religion, whatever, I'm always up for friendly mutual consolation or fiery debate. If you want to trade recipes, be warned - I grew up in Louisiana, and haven't yet found anything for conversion of the some into other, more standard, units. I am especially inerested in meeting liberals and progressives who live in the south, or have done so at some point. Visitors, transients, guests - anyone who has been in the deep south and come away with a definite impression, for good or ill, those are the people I would like to talk to. |
