Cool MySpace stuff Pimp MySpace Hello :) I'm a strange girl obsessed with music and loves to sing. I can be goofy and quite the oddball, but I can also be soft and sweet. I'm also very loving, loyal, and honest with a love for observation. I also like writing, but find that hard to do these days since I've become a mom. Though, with all the pictures I've been taking of my daughter lately, I've come to realize what a shutterbug I am. Maybe I should get into photography. Hmmm... I really would love to get a band going (*wishes she still lived in Minneapolis, MN*), so I can finally sing all the songs I've been dying to do for an audience. (A little PJ Harvey "Long Snake Moan" anyone?) It would be so nice if I could play an instrument other than my vocal chords, then I could finally put all the poetry I've written to music. *sighs* I also like to paint. My artistry could never be seen as realism or impressionism, but it sure is abstract. I cannot paint without music, as it is my inspiration. My paintings are usually themed around whatever I'm feeling as I listen, and I often incorporate song lyrics into my art. Painting is a wonderful relaxation tool. :) I've been diving into my beliefs, my spirituality and I find I that I've become less and less religious over the years, but I still beilieve in God (There's more to it than that, but...). I've also gotten into astrology, numerology, and reincarnation (not quite into tarot yet, but interested in it!). Does this mean I'm crazy? No. Does this mean I'm a fruitcake? Nah, I've been a fruitcake since I was in diapers. What does this mean? I think it means I'm open, curious, possibly introspective, and, I'm hoping, intelligent. ;o) There is so much more that I could write, but I've written enough. Heroes:For various reasons, one being admiration, I would call the following people my "heroes":Bono In my eyes, he's the Ultimate Rock Star. He uses his fame and fortune to help others. That is awesome in my eyes. Tori Amos Tori is one of the most influential living legends of our time. A natural talent, Tori's words and music touch me in such a way that no other musician/band has seemed be able to do. Not even my other favorite, u2! Having survived a rape and multiple miscarriages, Tori uses her music as her therapy, and I thank her whole-heartedly for it. Tori is the phoenix rising from the ashes. A true inspiration to women everywhere. Oprah This woman came from nothing and look at her now. Her humanitarian efforts, among other things, are inspriring to me. Lita Ford When I was a kid, I wanted to be her. *lol* She could rock a guitar, sing, write music and look good while doing all of it. She was one of the original rock chicks. Michael Sweet of Stryper I heard his voice at the age of 9 and knew I wanted to sing like that. I have my own vocal style going, but I've been told I'm very good. I thank him for the inspiration. ‡Survivors of all kinds: Whether it's a battle against terminal illness, ignorance and adversity, or fighting for human rights, there are thousands of unsung heroes that deserve to be recognized. This is a short list. These are the first that came to mind, and these have been on my list for many years. I'm sure I have some new ones, and I'll add them another time. |
