| ..The Element was founded in 1998 by Rafael Macedo and the band made it's debut concert, playing with Blind Guardian in Brazil, in a concert for more than 2.000 people, which had a great response from the fans and media. With such feedback, the band released, in 2003, it´s first demo cd, Climbing Up the Stairs of Mind , which had, as the great highlight of the promotional process, a concert with Grave Digger. In the year of 2004 a new drummer joined the band, Beto Andrade, who was also a great friend of them. After this change, The Element signed a deal with Megahard Records, to record Mind Sludge , the band's first full length. During the months of September and October of the same year, they were in the city of São Paulo to record the cd, which should be released in August of 2005, something that didn't happen, due to financial problems of the label, and, as a result, the band left the label, due to lack of proper conditions of work. In 2006 The Element came back to stage, playing in their city again, after a long time, and still receiving a good response from fans and local media. In August they had one more line-up change: Vico Grimberg, a great friend and musician, who had already worked with the band members in Roll the Rush (Rush Cover), joined THE ELEMENT. In 2007 the band knew a lot of musicians around the world and the american guitarist Christian Wentz, who became a great friend of the band, was invited to join THE ELEMENT.The Element is a progressive metal band, which uses their knowledge as work tool, mixing technique, feeling and heaviness in their music. The band has influences which goes from the traditional rock, progressive and hard rock, like Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, Rush, Supertramp, Iron Maiden, Yes, Van Halen, Pantera, Metallica, Dream Theater, Alice In Chains, Symphony X and others With such diverse knowledge they created an own identity which is presented in the form of .The Element.
