| Empyrean is an extreme metal sextet with widely spanning inspiration from melodic, dark and symphonic sound scapes. Having this diverse influence has allowed the band to share the stage with world class acts such as, Dark Tranquillity (Swe), Vader (Pol), Insision (Swe), Clutch (USA), Iron Lung (USA), Psycroptic, The Amenta, Alarum and Alchemist.
After solidifying a dedicated and cohesive line up in late 2006, Empyrean entered studio Anderz Debeerz to record their debut EP, ‘Embodiment Of Sin.’ After launching the CD at Her Majesty’s Basement, the band has spent the last year writing new material whilst touring Melbourne, Rockhampton, Townsville, Mackay and playing numerous shows in Brisbane. 2008 has seen the release of the ‘Pleasure of another’s pain’ video clip produced by Rome Ramsies (Mudvayne, Slipknot, Cradle of Filth). Empyrean have also just retured to the studio to record a full-length album encompassing a darker, heavier and ultimately mature sound, further solidifying the band’s constant rise to a respected position on the international metal stage.
