Passion for singing began early. Beckie loved to sing specials in church with her Aunt Janice. Beckie’s powerhouse vocals set her apart from no other. Close family friend Walton McMurry’s confident drumming and back up vocals firepower is evident on stage and in the studio. A performance
Percussion major Walton is no stranger to the stage.Wenona “Nonie” Taliaferro interest in music started when her Mother purchased her first guitar at age 12.A self-taught drummer,
Guitarist and songwriter.
Wenona has always been modest but yet confident and very optimistic.
Always seeing the glass 1/2 full the eternal optimist.Rush Springs is about
Relationships. It’s about life, love and being in a family and what happens when there’s drama, trouble and tragedy.Beckie, Walton & Wenona have endured heartaches, war, loss of loved ones & tornadoes. But yet still finding the strength to move forward.
Wenona’s Father had a near death experience, with all the family
Present a stroke Christmas Day 2007. Wenona’s Son & Beckie’s Husband Sergeant Thomas Spradling USMC survived 1 tour in
Aphganastan & 2 tours in
Iraq. A tornado swept through Oklahoma totally destroying the home of Wenona’s
Parents with them in it as well as Wenona’s pregnant Daughter and Husband. Wenona’s Grandbaby & Beckie’s niece Kamryn struggled to stay alive at birth. After airlifting to a Dallas hospital & lots of prayer Baby Kamryn is alive and well..You can see the growth of the character and the life experience, and then you see the conclusion. Rush Springs is very honest, grown up but yet fun and youthful. Their gift of self-confidence born of the rock-solid foundations of family and faith, and the knowledge that while they continue to learn they have given their all.. The name Rush Springs was chosen by Walton, and yes Rush Springs is a small town in Oklahoma famous for the Watermelon Festival. Even though none of the band members have any ties to this wonderful town they are proud that the good people of Rush Springs allowed them the to carry the name. Rush Springs is a down to earth Oklahoma country town. A town where there is no strangers. The finest individuals you will ever meet. Beckie Jo, Wenona & Walton are from Wilson, Ardmore &Lone Grove Oklahoma.It's been a long hard road where it leads we don't know but it's been one heck of a ride. Only the Lord knows what is ahead of this journey. If it's meant to be we will know the rest of the story.

Musical influences would be Country, Americana, Folk, Western Swing, Traditional Country, Red Dirt, R&B, Jazz and Southern Rock. Sounds Like: Rush Springs Sounds like no other. A very original sound. If you had to describe their sound it would no doubt a mix of Miranda Lambert, the Judds, Little Big Town and Fleetwood Mac. Put all this in the mix and you get RUSH SPRINGS.
