The thing I am most proud of is the nine years I spent fronting brooklyn's most infamous band SHANGO aka The Metal Mafia. It has been said being the frontman of a band is like being a quaterback in football.With that said I spent nine years handing off to Barry Sanders and throwing to Jerry rice. Robert Racalbuto & Tom (Dem Bones) Stigi are two of the best players I ever had the pleasure of working with. Both of whom are highly trained, very dynanic consistent musicians. I really do love these guys . When I was growing up the two things I wanted to do in my life were play football for The N.Y Giants (of Course)or be in the music business. The football thing didn't work out.But,The latter did. I have spent the better part of my life in the music biz. It all started at the tender age of eight. Taking drum lessons from Sam Uliano and Playing with various bands in Brooklyn. At 21 I began my career on the business side of music working as a drum tech. From there I went on to being a production/tour manager for various national bands. In 1981 I became the booking agent for The Brooklyn Zoo concert club. In 1983 I started my career in artist management. This is when I had the opportunity to work with three very talented bands. One of which is now the biggest Heavy metal band of all time.(Where I grew Up. You don't name names). I would like to get back into artist management. Although it is a thankless job. You see bands are funny.When things are going well they are the geniuses. When things go wrong it everyone elses fault. But! This is what I do and so I will do it again! There are so many talented bands out there that need some direction. The most important thing in my life is my family. Your blood is your blood and nothing can change that! For twenty years I have been married to most wonderful woman. In that way Iam lucky! She has never turned her back on me. Even when I did wrong. She has always been there for me. As I for her. .. |
