I began writing poetry as a child, but became more serious about the craft in the last 5 years. That was when my father passed away, and writing helped me deal with the immense grief. I love nature photography and have been known to plan vacation dinners around sunsets! I have taken several html coding classes and design my own websites for my e-zine, Blue Turtle Crossing. My collab poem "Crawling Into The Bottle" won Picture Poem of the week in June 2008: My collab poem "Home Alone" won Pic Poem of the week and was #5 on AngelHeart's Top 10 Writers of the Week: My sestina poem "The Keeper of The Hatteras Light" recently won first place in the Love/Romance category at the Open Mic Contest at Legacy Writers at Harmony Pub! Vince is a senior at Florida State University studying Info Tech, and Katie is a sophomore at St. Thomas Aquinas High School. I am so proud of both of them! I have a tiger cat named Tommy, who is my little shadow. I was born in Maryland and currently reside in South Florida. Hubby & I plan to retire to Northern Virginia in just a few years, so I can be closer to my family....whom I dearly miss. I am from a large family, of Irish & German descent. Here are my beautiful kids....they're not little anymore!!! |
