Music:Member Since: 1/30/2006Band Website: badiassad.com Band Members: me on guitar, voice, vocal/body percussion. The band so far... Zeca Assumpcao on acoustic double bass, Decio 7 on percussion, Dimos Goudaroulis on cello, and Carlos Malta on flute/sax... I've been travelling with the whole group and all different variations..and, of course, solo... Influences: First and foremost my father, Jorge Assad Simão, who was my first guitar teacher, and of course my brothers Sergio e Odair Assad. They would play all kinds of interesting things for me when I was growing up. Tori Amos, Bjork, Led Zeppelin, Michael Hedges, Egberto Gismonti, Elis Regina, Caetano Veloso, Hermeto Pascoal, Uakti, Barbatuques, Bob McFerrin, Taylor McFerrin, Rahzel, Ani DiFranco, Aziza Mustafa Zadeh, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Asian Dub Foundation, Nação Zumbi, Lenine, Chico César, Paco de Lucia, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, The Doors, Kodo... Sounds Like: Most people say I sound like Badi Assad... :)I'll try to vary the tunes here from time to time, maybe post live versions...
