| Once I used to live in the deep, dark woods with a tricky but loving horse. Time passed by, music swept me away, and eventually Old Lost John appeared. Music:Member Since: 1/24/2006Band Website: oldlostjohn.com Band Members: Basically a one man project, Old Lost John is the musical vehicle of singer-songwriter Tomas Thunberg, mainly singing and playing guitar, but also handling mandolin, mandola, bass guitar, harmonica, tin whistle, melodeon and pump organ. The line up in live situations is completed by various musical friends. Currently within the frame are Olof Jennfors (mandolin), Unni Zimmerdahl (trumpet), Mattias Ljunggren (upright bass), Goran Abelli (trombone), Ida Gustafsson (harmony vocals, lemur characteristics), Frida Åstrand (bowed saw), and the ghost of Calder Mountain (everything else). Influences: Old leather bound books, seasoned woods, small birds, whispering winds and speaking trees, wounded hearts and weathered souls, visions of delight and despair. Sounds Like: ...the wind across the moor, the rustle of leaves, the thunder and the rain, the echoes of long lost love and forgotten tales buried in the mists of time. Or, simply put, acoustic americana noir with a traditional touch. Type of Label: None |
