| This is what I want to say about me.I was born in Mount Vernon, New York then moved to Philadephia Pa. I was about three years old and grew up in North Philadelphia. I now live in Queens New York. In Philadelphia I was taught by my mother about my real self, which is the spiritual side of who I am, she taught me that my soul was the real me and not the body, that people see and that the purpose why I'm here, was to help, care and give life to those who needed it. Being born on February 10th, under the sign of Aquarius the water bearer and as we know water gives life to all living things on this planet. I learned about singing from my mother, she would sing songs about God. My Mother said it made her feel good about life, so I started singing at a young age and she made, my brother and I join the church choir. Around the age of fourteen my brother and I would sing on the street corner near our house with some of our friends. We would sing Doo Wop songs as they were called then, by groups who were hot at that time and we sung at talent shows and where ever people wanted to hear us. We formed a group called the Shades of love, in our late teens the group consisted of Keith Beaton, Richard Pratt, Vernon Sawyer and myself Wendell Sawyer who later became Blue Magic along with Ted Mills. The name Blue Magic has a spiritual meaning, the color blue is the color of the aura that surrounds the human body when the person is feeling good, happy and spiritual. The word magic is taken from the word magi, who were the wise men who were looking for Jesus in the East so you have the spiritual wise men from the East, being in Blue Magic gave us the opportunity to travel all around the world and perform with some of the greatest classic soul artist. I have been in show business for thirty four years and I know what goes on in this business. I had to learn by making mistakes so now I am ready to teach what I know to those who don't know, about this business. We worked on a song with Mick Jagger and the Rolling Stones and did a song with Big Daddy Kane.Right now in 2006 we are working on a new CD which I believe will be the best album we have ever done. In october 2007 we did a song called Blue Magic with Frank Lucas Jr. the son of the american gangster Frank Lucas the one Denzel Washington played in American Gangster.To me that showed that the new artist and the old artist could do things together and that's how it should be,we did help pave the way for the new artist of today but the music industy meaning radio and major record companys, don't give the classic soul artist the respect they deserve and they are the ones who divided the new and old artist, when we should be one big happy family.Working with Frank Lucas Jr. was a great step for Blue Magic because it brought together something that should have never been apart,it was like a father and son sharing something together and that's how it should be,we can learn from each other.We have a DVD coming out soon showing Blue Magic performing live and we did a song with Frank Lucas Jr. Called Blue Magic And we are under new management,2008 will be the beginning of something new for Blue Magic stars layout @ HOT FreeLayouts.com lity:visible;} table table table td.text table table div { background-image:url('none');} stars layout @ HOT FreeLayouts.com MyHotComments HotFreeLayouts snapvine="begin" Get Your Own Voice Player Manage ore at MySpace.com .. .. ...... |
