| the blank tapes was dreamed up by matt adams a long long time ago... the blank tapes is really just me with my friends helping me out for shows. i write, record and play all the instruments on my albums (99% of the time). i have a band in san francisco and in orange county that both play as the blank tapes. Aside from those main two, there have actually been quite a few blank tapes back-up bands (mostly just drummers) that have sprouted up here and there across the country. My new album "Daydreams" was released this last summer of 2007 with 25 songs recorded by myself on an old 8-track cassette tape recorder. Alot of radio stations all over the country have been playing tracks off it too. SF's KUSF, LA's Indie 103.1, KXLU, KCRW, Davis's KDVS, Portland's KPSU and even NPR are all big supporters and have had us play live on their stations. Besides that, the blank tapes just did a 2 week west coast tour in spring and a 9 week cross country tour last Fall. We'ved done quite a few other west coast tours and a couple other NY area tours & some SXSW performances. send a message or e-mail if you'd like to buy a CD. i have a couple other albums too. 2005's "Landfair" (won best Pop/rock album at the independant music awards 2005 and charted at 161 on the CMJ charts) & 2003's "country western honky tonk saloon blues". Cafe Du Nord, Hemlock Tavern, Swedish American Hall, Rickshaw Stop (san francisco). Knitting Factory, Spaceland, the Echo, Largo (Los Angeles). Lit Lounge, Cake Shop, Pete's Candy Store (NY).
