Music:The Stones...Beatles...Oasis...GnR...Motley Crue...STP...Lenny Kravitz...Led Zep...Audio-Rage-Garden-Against-The-Sound-Machine-Slave...DR .Dre... Iggy/Stooges...Ziggy/Spiders...Jane's Addiction...I checked out a real cool film a while back called DIG ! It follows the careers of the Brian Jonestown Massacre and the Dandy Warhols love/hate/ friendship over the course of a 7 year period...Its an outstanding film...and consequently I have become friggin' obsessed with getting everything I can from both bands...especially the BJM because they are one of the most amazingly talented and fucked up rock and roll bands that there ever was... plus the new bands I check out here on myspace...And tons more that have come and gone over the years...but every now and then a brain cell goes away...You Are Barney You could have been an intellectual leader... Instead, your whole life is an homage to beer You will be remembered for: your beautiful singing voice and your burps Your life philosophy: "There's nothing like beer to give you that inflated sense of self-esteem." The Simpsons Personality Test Not every day can be Nursry Rhymes and Care Free Frivolity and you need a tune to give you an Edge. "Outshined" by Soundgarden is the riff for me. If I was picking the song for my BMF song ; that is it. There is a cool confidence that just rolls at the tempo I do...You know what I mean...when you just have to feel like a BMF...If you don't already have a BMF song you should..It's the best way to go for those times you don't have your ipod or whatever. Of course you can have alternating BMF songs...But its kind of like cheating in a way...Always in your heart of hearts there can only be... ONE BMF Song! I love the use of music in films. Like the scene in "True Romance" where Brad Pitt's Good Karma Stoner Guy is tokin' on the couch when the mobsters come in lookin' for a suitcase full of product...Pitt offers to share ...Wiseguys decline...and the whole time Soungarden is just cranked in the back... |

Movies:All Mafia Flicks. Goodfella's, Godfather, Casino,
Do you think I'll get whacked for calling Mr. Scorsese, "Marty" ? It would be a shame since Marty could obviously see that I have not only purchused, but studied at least 3 of his best Mob Flicks !!! Don't even get me started on "GoodFellas"...Henry Hill dealin' to "Monkey Man" by The Stones....ic...If you can't tell by now, I think music can enhance the film, just like the film can renew the significance of music...Now that you can go out and buy/rent "The Departed" on DVD you can check out how once again Marty opens up the film with "Gimmie Shelter" from the Stones with Jack Nicholson's cool gravely voice-over the top talkin' about his life of crime...and then as you watch the rest of the film and more crime and corruption ensues...you will wonder what other Stones tunes will Marty throw in...but he sticks with "Gimmie Shelter" and uses various parts all thru the movie...fu**ing genius :) |
