| "The stuff I sing about are the things I have felt and gone through and most people can relate to feeling that way at some point in their lives. We get lots of people who write us about that, " remarks Milica (pronounced ma-lit-za), who along with vocal duties, writes all the lyrics for Allyptic. "Black Season", the bands latest release, is replete with songs that deal with emotionally charged subjects like loss (In My Heart), suicide (October Leaf) and betrayal (Whispered Secrets). The music and vocals effectively translate the written word, resulting in haunting, hard edge songs with undeniably catchy beats and melodies. "Our songs always start with a solid vocal melody and then we work the instrumentation around that," says bassist, Nick. It is a formula which has been followed since the band’s inception. Allyptic is the brain child of Milica (vocals) and Jared (Drums), friends who met at college and years later decided to form a band. In early 2004 they had recruited two mutual friends to cover guitar and bass chores and immediately began to write. Their music started to find it’s way on New Jersey college radio and on the FMQB Metal Detector, hosted by Sirius Satellite’s Jose Mangin. By the tail end of 2005 they had managed to release a 6 track EP (Most were re-recorded for Black Season). The EP was essential to garnering an early fan base and giving Jared and Milica a foundation to further refine their creative process and shape Allyptic’s sound, a blend of nu metal, alt rock and pop. 2006 marked a year of positive change for Allyptic. With a new guitar player (Brett) in tow, the band was able to successfully complete their first full length CD, Black Season, by years end. In the mean time, their EP started receiving air play on main stream radio shows with-in the U.S. like The Midnight Metal Show with Screamin’ Scott on Michigan’s own 101 WRIF. Now with a new album, Allyptic says their ready to further their reach with the first leg of their tour, slated for June. It will include Utah, Colorado, Arizona and California. They are also laboring to get their music available at various retailers and online music sites like iTunes, to meet the growing demand for their music. And as far as approaching record lables go, Milica summed up the band’s feelings in a recent Metal Insanity interview: "We don’t care to get signed at this point.
