| THE ANIMAL FARM is a music production company. We produce records, write songs, manage artists, run a publishing company and a record label. We're engaged in this great business that is the "music business". Notice how "music" comes before "business". We are based at the Atomic Studios Complex in London, near Tower Bridge, where we can see the London Eye from our windows. If you're an exciting new band making exciting new music, we're big on artist development - you should get in touch. As you should if you're a manager or a label looking for a producer or a co-writer for your artist. The Animal Farm is run by producer/writers Mat and Ville Leppanen. We started our careers in 1993 by signing as songwriters to Bob Grace's Empire Music. Our career took a severe and welcome left turn when our punk band Snowdogs signed to Victory Records in the US. We toured the world from the late 90s until 2003 when we set up The Animal Farm. Consequently, our CV is a veritable smorgasboard of artists as diverse as At The Drive-In, Shakin' Stevens, Blink 182 and S Club 7... He also said: "A plausible mission for artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit." If it sounds good, it is good. For general educational purposes we recommend you watch Metallica's Some Kind Of Monster DVD. Read Paul Zollo's book "Songwriters on Songwriting" and then listen to and find inspiration in the work of those interviewed. Invest in the fantastic autobiographies of Bob Dylan and David Lee Roth. Fred Goodman's "Mansion On The Hill" and Frederick Dannen's "Hitmen" will tell you how the record industry was built and by whom. One sure thing: you can't go wrong with D.W.
