His father owned the bar. With an atmosphere of its own it was the gathering grounds for bikers, workers, or the average outlaw in the hills of Montana. He spent endless hours in the bar with his dad, and during the days he'd teach himself to play the different instruments left on the stage. By the age of 14 he had already formed a band and started making his own original music.
