You are visiting the official Myspace profile of legendary guitar virtuoso Michael Angelo Batio. Michael is the inventor and the first one ever to play the double V-neck guitar that he calls the "Double-Guitar". He is also the inventor of his signature stage move, the "MAB over-under technique". Michael is currently featured monthly in Guitar World Magazine with an instructional column titled, "Time To Burn". Michael's works include his instructional DVD's "Speed Kills", "Speed Kills 2", "Speed Kills 3", "Speed Lives" and his "Performance" DVD. Michael will be featured in the new Randy Rhoads documentary film directed by Peter Margolis. Michael performed the song "Tribute to Randy" on his Double-Guitar and was interviewed for the movie as well. The movie will be released in 2009. The "Performance" DVD is an in depth look at MAB the man, the artist, the entertainer, performing live at "Monster Mix" studio. Included are his versions of "Burn", "Tribute to Randy", "Hands Without Shadows", "China", "The Finish Line" his Double-Guitar solo, plus a beautiful unaccompanied acoustic guitar piece titled "A New Day" and more! "Performance" is available at www.angelo.com. Michael's CD, "Hands Without Shadows" or "HWS" (M.A.C.E. Records) features guest appearances by Mark Tremonti of Alter Bridge and Creed, Rudy Sarzo of Ozzy, Whitesnake and Quiet Riot, Doug Marks, founder of Metal Method, virtuoso guitarist Bill Peck and more. Bobby Rock played drums on the entire CD. The primary bassist William Kopecky is a 6 string and fretless virtuoso. All of Michael's work can be found at www.angelo.com. Michael's "25 Jazz Progressions DVD" and his latest solo CD titled "2XAgain" are available now.
