It’s rare nowadays to find a rapper with the lyrical ability and prowess that commands respect from the most ardent and well studied hip hop heads, while at the same time having the cross-over appeal to have the young high school kids who like the DJ Webstar’s of the world completely want to rock out with him…. With influences ranging from Rakim and Big L, to Eminem and Big Pun, to the Deftones and Nirvana, old Salseros and Mos Def….Harlem’s own Ellementt 112 is poised to grab the worlds attention sooner or later…it’s all a matter of time. Born and raised in Spanish Harlem’s Taft Projects, Ellementt 112 paints recognizable pictures that pull from all of our collective experiences. He writes about what we’ve all typically seen in the heart of the urban environment…death, crime, fights, hate, love, youth, dreams, a yearning to escape, etc.:: “Stronger head on my shoulders now that i'm older/rock solid like a boulder now ima soldier/the streets sometimes gonna make your heart colder/thats what my momma says when i hold her/feels like ive held the weight of world on my shoulders/brought up in the projects as a product of my environment” So what’s next for Ellementt 112? Big moves. He’ll be dropping his LP, “Verbal Graffitii” that was exclusively produced by Recognize Real in September. He’s secured management down in Orlando and will be relocating down there. He’ll open for Drake on August 10th @ the House of Blues. Come out and support!
