WHITMAN - WHITE SUNRISE - LP "You may remember hearing the name of this record at some point a few years ago, which would not be much of a suprise since this album has been in the works for a little over five years now. This is Whitman's fourth full-length, and outdoes all of his previous work in just about every way. Recorded to tape at the Pixel Palace (rip) in Riverside, Ca. by Gilbert Loera and including more guest musicians than you can count on your fingers, one could say that this is his masterpiece (at least at this point). This is a collection of thirteen songs, choked out in smog and violence, dark and dusty. Lonelier than ever, voice raising high and loud before cracking. Comes on a white vinyl LP with pro-printed labels, housed in recycled record covers with two-color silkscreened artwork by Tara Tavi, and a small book. Limited to 530 copies." $12 + SHIPPING WHITMAN / TREASURE MAMMAL - SPLIT 7" "Here is a split that will take you from one end of the emotional spectrum to the other within minutes. It has two new offering by each artist. Whitman gives you a psychedelic jam on how to make Riverside the ideal homeland utilizing fireflies as well as a cover of a song by I.E., stripping this club song down to ukulele and percussive noise. The Treasure Mammal side on the other hand brings a jazzy, electronic life lesson, and karma-tic Casio ballad. Black vinyl, with inserts containing lyrics, and covers designed and printed by Matt Hart. Limited to 337 copies." $5 + SHIPPING WHITMAN / ALAS, ALAK, ALASKA! - SPLIT 7" "This record will simply blow yor mind. On this record we combined the manic, smog infested folk rambles of Whitman with the spaced-out, naturally grown carols of the mystic princess Alas, Alak, Alaska! Northern and southern California meet on this record in the most beautiful way possible. On this record Whitman turns over a new leaf, producing a clattering whispered folk ballad as well as a skuzzed out pop song. Alas, Alak, Alaska! produces some of her most beautiful work yet, with two songs that drift into one another with a catchy flow as magnificent as a warm, California summer night. Comes on black vinyl with pink labels, with letterpressed covers, and a large fold-out, hand numbered insert. Limited to 300 copies." $5 + SHIPPING SOME HISTORY "04 Whitman" - Pitchfork Media The man is musical slavery. Whitman is musical freedom. The songs that break the chains. Whitman is the big strong tree, been here so long, the mold has a happy home. Whitman is the fat happy fruit falling into the hands of the hungry, nourishing them with juices of genius. Grab your juicer, open an ear, take a seat, take a bite, slide a disc in the wallet, its not so bad, don't let it bite you on the foot. Lie down, close your eyes and let it all sink in.
